Do we deserve all this?

Do we deserve all this? When it’s raining, the option to get wet is ours…and no one else’s! In reality, many times in general, we ask ourselves this question: Do I deserve this? Do I really deserve this? It's that old story... We don't learn until we hit our heads. It's not enough to see the example of others, we need to hit our heads to see what is true! Some say that the convictions, principles and certainties that we adopt throughout our lives and character, how we act in relation to different circumstances or the way in which we face challenges and that determine our strength of character, are important for our lives, as they guide our choices and actions, and define our personality. “I am convinced of my own limitations - and this conviction is my strength. A no said with conviction is better and more important than a yes said merely to please, or, worse still, to avoid complications.” (Mahatma Gandhi) As Ernest Hemingway would have said and written: “Sometimes a smart man is forced to get drunk to spend time with the dumb.” We have to recognize that sometimes we are naive and even stupid, this scares us because we rarely, or almost never, think about it. In fact, as Cicero said: “All humans can make mistakes, but only idiots persist in them.” For Jean-Paul Sartre, for example, human beings are completely free to exercise the power of choice, and this is precisely what differentiates and dignifies them. It is within our reach to choose the objective to be followed, the best way to deal with a certain type of situation and the ideal way to get around obstacles. We can even decide not to act, to do absolutely nothing, which is also a choice. But paraphrasing Jô Soares, “the biggest mistake of the “smart ones” is to think they can make a fool of everyone.”
