We always arrive at the place where they are waiting for us."

uma vez me disse ‘a minha estatística é viver.’

"We know that, the problem is that there are those who don't want to understand Portuguese !!!"
"We know that, the problem is that there are those who don't want to understand Portuguese !!!"
Because there are words that will stay forever and will survive us. Survive our fleeting journey through our existence. They would say that “our fate is sad”… “Ten months after the first cases of covid were officially confirmed in Portugal, the Portuguese still do not know the behaviors to follow to prevent the virus and they need a police officer to tell them, the all the time, what they can and cannot do. ”
The reality is that we have been entrusted with the responsibility of knowing how to manage the space given for the Christmas and New Year celebrations. The risks were known. The ways of spreading this virus are known. Behaviors are our individual choice. There is no need to point the finger at the Government for giving us the freedom to celebrate Christmas and for avoiding meddling in the intimacy of families. And now, instead of taking the blame, we blame others! At least that's what it sounds like, hearing widespread criticism of the Government for not being more restrictive at Christmas, imposing, for example, a maximum number of people per household. As Carl Sagan said: "And if the world does not correspond in all aspects to our desires, is it the fault of science or of those who want to impose their desires on the world?"
In my opinion, the Government should have taken more radical measures and not be waiting for a new in-depth assessment of the epidemiological situation. Because with hospitals at risk of rupture, confinement reaps consensus, but there is no need to wait for it to be decreed to limit (now and permanently) our contacts. Prevention works when we take it voluntarily. Everyone has to do their part - for everyone's health, for those who struggle desperately to keep their businesses and jobs, for those who are collapsing mentally, for teachers who sacrifice themselves to ensure fair access for students to school. "Shame is judging that you know everything. Shame is not knowing that you can always know more, it is not being able to repeat with Garcia de Orta that 'what we know [is] a small part of what we ignore'. No man or woman with a scientific background you can say that you undoubtedly know everything! ". The phrase is from scientist Maria de Sousa, who died with covid.)
The worst that can happen to us is that we have a devastating confinement, economically and socially, but without effectiveness in the health emergency. The responsibility is now as ours since the beginning in March 2020. There is no point in prohibiting decrees if we do not strictly comply with the containment measures. We don't need a policeman to watch every home. Not even watching the others. It is enough that we watch ourselves. “There are three methods for gaining wisdom: first, by reflection, which is the most noble; second, by imitation, which is the easiest; and third, from experience, which is the most bitter. ” (Confucius)
do novo ano. Os riscos era conhecidos. As formas de propagação deste virus são
conhecidas.

individualista.” A solidariedade é o sentimento

"In life, there is nothing to fear, but to understand."
"In life, there is nothing to fear, but to understand." (Marie Curie)
In these times now, in general, we are all, to a greater or lesser extent, managing our anxiety, in the hope that it will pass quickly this week, in order to know the number of people infected with “covid19” after the “Christmas and Christmas parties” new year ”, as almost everyone“ felt some revolt ”when checking out the“ brutal crowds ”on weekend mornings. Why do some people not follow the rules? In fact, as Galileo Galilei said: “We can't teach anyone anything, but we can help people find out for themselves.”
There are those who say that “people in a situation of denial”, have a more common emotional reaction to the new or unknown, which is a movement of doubt and distrust of how much the measures were necessary or if they were not an exaggeration, in their opinion. “Individualism omits” that puts everyone else at risk, they don't understand that we all prefer to live in a less adult, but more humane society, and that understand “possible social sacrifices” in favor of the other's life. ” All people are capable of mastering a pain, except those who feel it. Our doubts sometimes betray us and make us lose what we could often gain, simply by fear of taking chances. (William Shakespeare
Even if there were no covid-19, these were days to protect ourselves from the cold wave that plagues the whole country, with temperatures that can reach many negative degrees. We all have to find some hope in these times, but we must all be aware that they will not be like “the past” again, a new “normalized” life, will certainly be framed by this new “way of living in society”, and as a result some disadvantage of “being older”, is that it is more difficult for us to believe in these changes, we cannot avoid our despair for a vaccine, a cure, a hope to get out of this winter that has lasted us since last spring. As Simone Weil said: "I think it is useless to fight directly against natural weaknesses ... in the normal course of life, we need to know these weaknesses, take them prudently and strive to make them for a good purpose; all are capable of being put to good use. "
We live in our own time, there is that philosophical idea that can help us understand why time is "moving" slowly during this pandemic. The argument is that time has two faces. The first face of time is “objective time”: the time for clocks, calendars and transport schedules, etc. The second is the duration, the "lived time", the time of our subjective inner experience. This is the time felt, lived and performed. The reality is that the so-called "our knowledge", whether we like it or not depends on the "knowledge of others", although sometimes our imagination seems more important than science, because we "feel" that science is limited, whereas that our imagination spans “the whole world.” “There are truly two different things: knowing and believing that you know. Science consists of knowing; in believing that we know lies ignorance. ” (Hippocrates)
As nossas

Dear friends and everyone who reads these votes for 2021.
Dear friends and everyone who reads these votes for 2021.
Júnior and I saw it at the end of 2020, as a time to remember the joys and sorrows we experienced during the year and to wish all the best for you in 2021, even though we suddenly do not know what tomorrow will be like!
After almost a year (2020) of darkness, we can start 2021 with some light. We are fully aware that we will never be able to live with the levels of certainty with which we lived until 2020. As Charles Chaplin said: “There is nothing better in the world than living, enjoying and enjoying life, which passes quickly and we will not take anything from here. , except for all the experience and friendships. ”
In these times that are not ours, we are going to enter a new year, so it is time to live aware that we are the builders of our history. The world, ours and everyone else's, as we saw it before, does not return, but history is never a blank page. Whoever believes that everything will remain the same is wrong. Whoever believes that everything will change is also mistaken. Apparently, the storm will pass. But when it passes, it will be different. As Carlos Drummond de Andrade said “The last day of the year. It is not the last day of time. Other days will come. The last day of time. It is not the last day of everything. ”
The most incredible part when a new year arrives is the climate of renewal and hope present in each one of us. It is when we must stop to reflect on everything that happened and plan how we can make next year, the best of all, but we all wish and dream that it is not just a change in the calendar, but a change in our lives. "Start over ... if you can, without anguish and without haste and the steps you take, on this hard path of the future, give them freedom, as long as you don't reach rest, from any fruit you want only half." (Miguel Torga)
May the approaching New Year be an open door to all dreams, renewals of hope and much peace for our world. A year to break down barriers, fight for what is believed, and achieve. I wish you many joys for the New Year and many dreams come true. But, don't look too far back, or look far ahead, live the present. Happy 2021!
We would like to wish you so many things ... But nothing would be enough ... So, we just wish that everyone has many wishes. And allow us to wish each of us the best, that's why we toast to LIFE, without ever forgetting our past, because without it our present would not exist. Very friendly greetings kisses and hugs.

experiência e as amizades.”
Quem
acredita que tudo continuará igual está errado. Quem acredita que tudo vai
mudar também está enganado. Ao que parece, a tempestade vai passar. Mas, quando
passar, será diferente. Como disse Carlos
Drummond de Andrade “O último dia do ano. Não é o último dia do tempo.
Outros dias virão. O último dia do tempo. Não é o último dia de
tudo.”
concretizar. Desejo muitas alegrias para
o Ano Novo e muitos sonhos realizados.
Feliz 2021!
Gostaríamos de lhe desejar tantas coisas… Mas
nada seria suficiente… Então, desejamos apenas que todos(as) tenham muitos
desejos.

“Great things are obtained at the expense of great dangers.” (Heródoto)
“Great things are obtained at the expense of great dangers.” (Heródoto)
If, contrary to what is happening in other countries, we are doing well (according to scientific norms and rules in the area of health), and in time, it is because we are “putting an end to an old tradition ”In which“ we always considered ourselves worse than others ”…. What a great disappointment for all those who did everything so that this “war” was lost! For everyone, even for those who don't want to see, there is a “light at the end of the tunnel”, I know that there is a “disappointment” of some fundamentalists who were already preparing the “artillery” for a close attack on the health authorities, is to the Government, but vaccination against this pandemic has started in our country. Of course, we have to admit that there is merit from the Government that was able, and very well, to affirm our position as a small country with the “giants” of the European Union.
It is for all of this that we need to believe that it is through science and not through the selfishness of some who only think of their “alleged political power” that we will overcome our circumstances. We are not facing a dream life, but perhaps today it is the dream of our life, it is that after this we are so in need of the normal and even more concerned with the abnormal, any seemingly harmless detail becomes a repulsive event, is that in all this time we have been intoxicated, by the ridiculous comments by the idea that something has to happen, we are obsessed with the speed at which fear and anxiety has installed itself and the inability to perceive the nature of the virus, has left us even more disoriented. And, in these times that are not ours, nothing worse to solve a crisis, caused by an unknown pathogen, than the list of comments and opinions exactly about what is not known. When mediocre people eagerly seek protagonism, it is clear that fear can reveal obscene people. It is true that the effort to overcome the pandemic does not oblige to silence critical freedom. But it excludes gratuitous aggression, easy insult, gutter politics. To the unbelievers in vaccines and to the politically frustrated, we leave you this message: take care, or, translating into Portuguese vernacular “go but give the dog a bath .....”
We must recognize the great merit of the two women (Minister of Health Marta Themido and General Director of Health Graça Freitas, because being two women I have no doubt that contributed to the overload of malice, bad faith and ordinariness that befell her ) and the rest of the health authorities and health professionals because they have managed this pandemic with great altruism and competence, knowing how to avoid the insurmountable burden of the National Health Service. And yes, here is an example of the importance of good governance of the means and resources available in our country. As Daniel Goleman said: “Realizing what people feel without them saying it is the essence of empathy.”
Every day when we get up and do not give up, as we do not give up on us, it is life telling us that the best is yet to come and that everything will happen at the right time. It won't always happen the way we want, but life will put everything we need in our path. “To worry is to preoccupy yourself with something that is not yet happening. Thus, when the event occurs, we will be without enough and necessary energy to face it, because it was wasted ahead of time. In other words: if our mind is stuck with memories of the past or ideas of the future, we are not alive, but asleep, because life takes place in the present, in the here and now. ”(Thich Nhat Hanh)
obriga a silenciar a liberdade crítica.
sabendo evitar a sobrecarga intransponível do Serviço Nacional de Saúde. E aqui
recursos disponíveis no nosso País.
desperdiçada antes do tempo.
no aqui e agora.”(Thich Nhat Hanh)

The reason why sometimes people find it so difficult to be happy is because they are always judging the past better than it was, the present worse than it is and the future better than it will be, it is in these moments that we need to have the ability and vision to balance things, not everything is as bad as it seems and there is a certainty that we can always have, anywhere, wherever, there is always someone worse off in life than us! As Epicurus said: “Happy people remember the past with gratitude, rejoice in the present and face the future without fear.”In reality, it is we who choose, or have the option to choose, with our steps, with which we make our own way, although sometimes we do not know how to choose the best direction when we face a “crossroads”, or maybe we can think about leaving some stones along the way, not only to avoid getting lost, but also in case we need to go back. Is it really to be believed that people are free to choose their own path? We all have our own rules, our own understanding of ourselves and that is what we can count on, as well as, with our values, our attitudes and our actions, because they define who we are. life, it seems that it is not possible for another or others to do what each has to do. Only each one can build his own path. Until it does, it remains to be done. ”(Luis Portela- Fundação Bial)
As a Portuguese doctor (Patricia Monteiro) practicing in the United Kingdom said: “I believe that the most common feeling in relation to vaccines is not that of fear, it is more of expectation. Interestingly, the most apprehensive are even the youngest, perhaps because they are more exposed to social networks, where false news circulates. Older people are optimistic ”.
Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and then New Year's Eve follows. What can I say? That freedom is the ability of an individual to free himself from stupidity, fear and desire, to use reason and to live in truth, with respect for the freedom of others. We must be aware that these times are a test not only of our health care systems and mechanisms for responding to infectious diseases, but also of our ability to work together as a community in the face of a common challenge. “That our life is in our hands. No matter where we are now, no matter what has happened in our life, we can begin to consciously choose in our thoughts and consciously assume responsibility for our life. There is a deep truth within each of us who was waiting for, at any moment, to discover the truth: We all deserve all the things that life has to offer! ” (Rhonda Byrne - The Secret)

Todos nós temos as nossas próprias regras, a nossa

“Everything we are is the result of what we think.” (Rhonda Byrne - The Secret)
“Everything we are is the result of what we think.” (Rhonda Byrne - The Secret)
In these times that we now live, in general we spend a lot of time connected to technologies, we forget to live our life and we are very anxious. The reality is that we live in permanent insecurity, even when we do not want to admit it, there is between reality and fantasy, perception and projections, although everything is part of human nature, which sometimes leads us to “forget” that universal responsibility means that what happens to other people happens to us, we are responsible for that, although sometimes we do not admit it, I read this phrase somewhere, that “between being born and dying, there is the encounter with the unknown through the eyes, gesture and imagination. ”
I had a history teacher - I don't remember his name now - who on the first day of classes asked us to write the phrase “We cannot change the mistakes of the past, but we can understand in the present that we can change the future so as not to make the same mistakes errors, that's why it is important to understand and know the past ”. This phrase has always stayed with me and, therefore, perhaps, I never dared to despise the role of history and the global and predictive perspective that it presents to us. That is why we are advised that we should try to do the same in relation to science. Maybe like that, without being overbearing, we could understand who doesn't know everything about all the subjects and the path they choose is quite dangerous, although they even realize that their pages on the internet, in relation to the virus (covid19), where many are totally and absolutely wrong , became a meeting point for all those who, regardless of the reason, decided to turn their backs on science and believe in the narrative that best suits them (and there is everything: denialists, conspiracyists, selfish people or simply very tired and discerning people) lost). “Recognize the beautiful and wonderful things around you, blessing and praising them. On the other hand, don't spend time criticizing and regretting what doesn't work to your satisfaction today. Recognize everything you want, so you can receive more of it. ”(Rhonda Byrne - The Secret)
All of this does not mean that questioning what we do not understand is certainly positive and seeking answers to our doubts as well. But when we talk about topics that we are clearly unaware of (such as the use of messenger RNA), we must have the humility to listen to the explanations of those who work in the area and know much more than we do. We all know that the Internet is full of “studies that qualify as scientific”, the quotation marks are purposeful, just as we know that it is possible to arrange studies to prove almost anything we want, to do so just ignore all that contradict our opinion . But we must be aware that science, fortunately, has a method, and to reach certain conclusions it is necessary to assess the quality of all the existing evidence. As Albert Einstein said. ” Imagination is more important than science, because science is limited, whereas imagination spans the entire world. ”
In this specific case, the best evidence is on the side of the people who used and use the masks and the governments that promoted the lockdown, (the stricter version of social distance and when the recommendation becomes mandatory. It is an imposition of the State that means blockade total) and here, obviously, it is lawful to discuss the social and economic costs of this option, as this measure is the most rigorous to be taken and serves to slow down the spread of the Coronavirus. "Perhaps it is not today, nor tomorrow nor the day after tomorrow. But for those who believe and insist every day - miracles happen." (Anonymous)
