“Living is the rarest thing in the world. Most people just exist." (Oscar Wilde)
As they say, we can go on playing this game, dancing this dance, until we fool ourselves with phone calls and video calls, which sometimes increase the distances rather than reducing them. But only at the end can we tell the story. It is up to us here to emphasize, at least that is what it seems to us, that there is a gain in awareness that this isolation has led us, that more important in life that HAVING is BEING, besides that BEING does not end with time, it is eternal, but TER can end at any time. I feel that we are stronger, more patient with each other, more affectionate too, and I feel that we are now much more aware of what is fundamental.
However, this is not our time, it is indeed a time of uncertainty, but it is also a time of hope, and it is in this balance between uncertainty and hope that we have to move, uncertainty and hope even as we learn more, we are also discovering that it will not be so quick to return to normal for everyone. There is a popular phrase that says: "We only value things when we lose them". We will reflect on these times, and better manage our time, trying to use it in the healthiest way without forgetting our real priorities, aiming at a good quality of life and a life with more pleasure, bearing in mind as Albert Einstein said that “the imagination is more important than science, because science is limited, whereas imagination covers the whole world. ”
For today here are my suggestions and thoughts, about what I know or what I think I know:
1. The call now for confinement, that is, social isolation, as everyone realizes, is fundamental and essential to contain the coronavirus (covid 19);
2. In an optimistic way towards the beginning of May, in a pessimistic way towards the beginning of July, a new phase of our lives will begin, marked by a progressive resumption of activity, with observance of the rules prescribed by the health authorities;
3. We will only be returned to a way of life, more or less similar to what we had before we were invaded by COVID19, when a vaccine that radiates this virus is discovered and mass produced;
4. For now, we must appeal to discipline and resilience, that is, to our ability to face and overcome in this period of great difficulties this traumatic event, followed by times of heightened prudence so that we can envisage resuming living our life .
And, to conclude, I want to remember that it is the feeling of community, of sharing objectives, that has been what has led most to individual decisions - which, more than ever, have collective consequences. This is also why it is so important to continue to be so. Nothing is gained. But nothing is lost, too. "In the great battles of life, the first step towards victory is the desire to win." “Viver é a coisa mais rara do mundo. A maioria das pessoas apenas existe.” (Oscar Wilde)
“Viver é a coisa mais rara do mundo. A maioria das pessoas
apenas existe.” (Oscar Wilde)
mundo inteiro.”
gente percebe, é fundamental e essencial para conter o coronavírus (covid 19);
2.
prescritas pela autoridades sanitárias;
3.
produzido em massa, uma vacina que irradie este vírus;
4.
perspectivar o retomar do viver a nossa vida.
E,
vencer.” (Mahatma Gandhi)

What will happen next? Anybody know? I… don't even think about it ..!
What will happen next? Anybody know? I… don't even think about it ..!
I am even surprised, not to say shocked, that some “experts in epidemiological matters”, make predictions of anticipation of what will happen when we leave this time bracket, in which we find ourselves involved and socially isolated, and if at the economic level we are almost paralyzed, at a psychological level we feel clearly conditioned by this so-called “pandemic”, without knowing it, nobody can explain to us, if the virus will undergo mutations that make it more murderous, or we will continue to live with it until medicine manages to overcome it or, like its predecessors, it simply disappears in a short time. And all of this, while our life seems to escape us like sand in a half-open hand. As Paulo Coelho said: “It is not the explanations that take us forward; it is our desire to move forward ”.
To sum up and conclude, it is not any “donkey like me” that can perceive these minds of inaccessible brightness. For, at this moment, when there is something invisible, that does not choose social classes, that is destroying entire families, that is destroying the economy of the countries, creating unemployment, misery and hunger, and that we don't even know if we are to prepare for a change of habits that lasts a semester, a decade or as happened with AIDS, at least a generation, all the speculations seem to me from the domain of science fiction. As a friend of mine said, “with people like this, the world is only bad for masochism.”
In the meantime, we live in days of uncertainty and distrust. We protect ourselves because we can be a threat to others and at the same time they are a danger to us. We live at a distance, but desiring the proximity of those we miss most. In these days of social detachment, ignoring what can happen or when it will all end and studies of all kinds and shapes will appear, for all tastes - everyone is an expert in anything - they are difficult choices in social networks or in the few newspapers, at any rate, it seemed to us that this study, (from the Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto (ISPUP) and the Institute of Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science) has some scientific credibility, perhaps because characterizes a lot of our own vision, “it seems like a paradox, but the pandemic that is paralyzing the world is causing less fear in the elderly than in the young, when the former are most at risk of life. Older people may not have immunity to the virus, but they seem to have more immunity to respond to this new situation. They make it more relative, because they have already faced other difficulties and went through several public health crises, such as mad cow disease, bird flu, Ebola. For the youngest, this is the first major threat and major crisis in their lives, young people are more sad and anxious. The way in which this time of uncertainty is reflected in the emotional well-being of citizens is different between generations ”, observes Henrique Barros, president of ISPUP, a specialist in public health and an epidemiologist
We have the perception that social relations will not be “as before this crisis”, at least in the early days. The mistrust we have today of each one, the distance we maintain today, the fear of hugging, kissing ... will persist for some time, at least until we forget that we have already covered our faces, where even the smiles we hide. And, because we have to remember, for many of us this situation appears to us as a repetition of the situation experienced during the period 2011-2015, “when the unemployment of children and the lack of grandchildren knocked on the door of grandparents, who at the same time they saw their income being stolen, fanatical and were classified as "gray plague". Not everything will be reproduced but all of this has happened. The story, however, is open, as we all know. What will happen next? I modestly don't know. “I know that I am nothing and that I may never have everything. Apart from that, I have all the world's dreams in me. ”(Fernando Pessoa)

O que vai acontecer a seguir? Alguém sabe? Eu…nem sequer penso nisso..!
O que vai acontecer a seguir? Alguém sabe? Eu…nem sequer
penso nisso..!
nível económico estamos quase paralisados, a nível psicológico sentimos
E, tudo isto, enquanto a nossa vida parece
todas as especulações me parecem do domínio da ficção científica.
A forma
sabemos. O que vai acontecer a seguir? Modestamente não sei. “Eu sei que não sou nada e que
talvez nunca tenha tudo.
mundo.”(Fernando Pessoa)

These are times of few certainties and many uncertainties!
These are times of few certainties and many uncertainties!
In times, I would say moments nothing more than that, which we recognize as quite difficult, some say that it will be the greatest challenge of our short lives, because we face something unknown and a feeling of helplessness invades us to find a solution. There is that feeling of doubt, uncertainty, not knowing which way to go, what choice to make, which way to go!
We should all know that life is made of few certainties, but suddenly everything that was right is uncertain, everything that was acquired, has faded, however we are grateful for each day, because we are aware that there is always someone who is worse than us! Take care of yourselves so that we can quickly get out of this! That's what we feel like screaming! But who listens to us, or better listens? Even now, despite the State of Emergency, there are many people, and some who have, or should have, an enormous technical responsibility, in the area of health and beyond, who are more concerned with their personal situation than with contributing to find the best solutions for a catastrophe that was real, if nothing was done. My total disagreement with statements, which send anguish and instability to many, especially the elders who hear them.
As I already wrote here, I write for myself, and if I make these reflections public here, it is because I think that someone can also reflect on them - it is my modest and humble contribution. However, I have not yet written about how I was living, as an elder, this social isolation imposed by the pandemic. I have the notion that it is a time that I feel is being stolen from the lives of many who have a theoretically shorter future! As Ricardinho said (a futsal player and considered the best in the world): "May the sense of anguish of not knowing how much longer this situation will last, that of" going to have coffee, listening to the noise of people, being with family ... .so many things". The reality of my daily life is that, unlike most people my age and older, I can see and chat with people who are dear to me, via mobile phone, messenger or Whattsapp. How many people are deprived of these technologies? Certainly a large majority! I leave here an alert for all of us, that is when things start to tighten and the desire to give up becomes unbearable that we must strengthen our firmness and determination. But I also want to remember that the best paths are the most difficult, they are the ones that make us appreciate what we have, what we have achieved, the ones that no matter how many obstacles they have, we always want to overcome them to achieve the only certainty that we have that one day we will achieve: we are grateful for another day!
They may never have heard of Nietzsche, but they certainly know and apply their ideas. One of them, which I now want to emphasize, is to show how we are able to learn and become stronger emotionally from our life experiences, including (and especially) the most difficult and painful ones. “What doesn't cause me to die makes me stronger.” (Friedrich Nietzsche)

rapidamente possamos sair disto! É o que nos apetece
gritar! Mas quem nos ouve, ou melhor escuta? Ainda agora, apesar
A minha total
No entanto

"No wind blows in favor of those who don't know where to go.” (Sêneca)
"No wind blows in favor of those who don't know where to go.” (Sêneca)
“Carpe Diem. Seize the day, live now, forget what happened and what will happen. The life is now!"
These times that are not ours make us stronger. What is really important finds a way to manifest itself, even in the midst of noise and confusion, so that we have the necessary inner peace to see what is going on around us, because “our history shows that we like to react instead prevent ”.
Life today is tragic enough, so that this tragedy has not become a television show, of complete disrespect for the human condition, and for health professionals who under enormous pressure and limited resources, who are fighting a battle, without knowing against who and who daily try to save lives. It is shocking and shameful, (both morally and ethically) for those who claim to have the “profession of journalists”, but much more for those who “claim to be professionals in the health field”, who “forget” that this profession has the fascination of being able to help others, and being at the forefront in the fight against this pandemic, instead of falling into reality and not distorting the true dimension of things and understanding that life is much more than surviving. I am led to qualify these people who behave like “vultures”, who live from hatred to hatred, “just and only to try to have some notoriety”. Stop "just saying bad"! Why don't they present what the alternative was?
When they don't respect themselves, how can we expect them to respect others?
In fact, we must realize that this situation, which is imposed on us to safeguard our health, has completely changed our daily routines. And the uncertainty that exists regarding the time it will take until normality is restored or the fear of contracting the infection has effects, whether we admit it or not, on our emotional balance at a psychological level, and therefore it is permissible that “despite many of us being used to being alone ”, we may not be able to cope very well with this isolation, showing some signs of stress for not being able to leave the house and maintain our way of life, being defensible that to mitigate fear, stress, sadness or anxiety, we must resort to the means and resources at our disposal, to contact (talk to our family members, and friends) in order to restore this balance, in days of greater emotional instability.
As someone has already written “there is a fear of not seeing the family again, a fear of losing income from pensions and, for some, even the fear of going out on the street”. These concerns are increasing, they add, due to the "uncertainty of not knowing when this will end and the uncertainty of what comes next and the fear of being forgotten".
This is a reality: Even after everything "goes back to normal" nothing will be the same as before. The circumstances have become tougher and we have to toughen up as well. This means: being more creative, more resistant, resilient and positive. But we also have to be more practical, act more and better, be smart and smart. But, in all simplicity, we will have to enjoy more of life and ours, because after all everything is ephemeral. Life is full of challenges that, if used creatively, turn into opportunities. We have to recognize that we are in a situation that, despite everything, protects people's mental health, by “allowing them to go on trips that are essential to their survival, and” it also mitigates the risk factors to make sure that this situation exists. - to finish, although we do not know when: “It is a factor that gives us some hope. A return to normality will happen in the coming weeks or months. This has to be highlighted as a good factor. ”” Take advantage of all the opportunities in your life, because when they pass, they take a long time to return. ”(Paulo Coelho).

“Carpe Diem. Aproveite o dia, viva o agora,
esqueça o que passou e o que irá passar. A vida é agora!”
as nossas rotinas diárias.
As circunstâncias

Aceito as

Between dream and reality… .. "it is always time to learn" (ÉSQUILO)
Between dream and reality… .. "it is always time to learn" (ÉSQUILO)
“Here I am walking with the difficulties of those who live in times that are not their own”. We live in very strange times that penetrate our soul with sensations that we will never forget. We are aware that in order to win this war, it is really a war, we have to know how to use the only weapons with great intelligence, which for now, we have at our disposal: a lot of patience and the ability to deal with “these problems”, adapt to change, overcome obstacles and resist the pressure of situations that are adverse to us (resilience).
We have to recognize that these are essentially times of great distress, especially due to the real inability to predict the end of this instability that generates this anguish of isolation, because we have no idea how we will find ourselves when normality is returned to us, and that nothing it will have to do with the normality we knew, and the memory of the “pandemic situation of 2012 that hit Portugal and the Portuguese” is still very much alive.
There are those who still or do not realize that "we are in a state of national emergency", and behave as before the crisis, now with more vigor and even more media coverage. In addition to the incendiary covers of newspapers, and televisions at all times, they seem to collude to cause chaos. This is not journalism, it is pyromania. Anyone who sees a newspaper escapade, or turns on the Portuguese TV, adds to their worries fear, anguish and depression.
That is why we have to know and strive to face the future with great courage, take on the various problems and turn them into opportunities, keeping our minds well ventilated and our hearts open to the challenges that can be expected. That effort implies in each day learning to relate to our inner silence and remembering that everything in this life has a purpose; that there are no mistakes or coincidences: all events need us to learn from them. As Pope Francis said a few days ago: “Do the small things of each day with a big and open heart.”
Júnior and I wish all the friends who “accompany” us these days a good afternoon, and have the “strength”, which is in our imagination that the key to freedom is found to enter the “house called reality ”, and the distance between a dream and reality is our ability and will! GOOD AFTERNOON!

medo, a angústia e a depressão.
“Fazer as
capacidade e vontade! BOA TARDE!

“Nobody is that old that doesn't believe they can live for another year.” (Cícero)
“Nobody is that old that doesn't believe they can live for another year.” (Cícero)
"The world will come back and I will come back with him!"
We live in times of uncertainty, because nobody knows if and when he will be able to live his life again. The present times of life are giving us a lesson. As Juan Fangio said. “I believe that when people think they are going to die, they become much more generous”, I wanted to say with this phrase that we have to be less selfish and more supportive, less materialistic and more humanistic. So we walk with a “load” of strange feelings, the moments of uncertainty dominating our lives and those we love, in the feeling that maybe (as we wish) we are on the path of the summer of our lives, and when that moment comes I believe that there will be sun and heat so that we can associate ourselves with an infinite desire to go out and celebrate the return to a normal life.
In these moments we feel that we are all the same, the rich and the poor, the illiterate and the literate, the young and the young… but we all have to listen in silence…. Wake up! In general, we all feel that we are experiencing a historic moment in which nothing will ever be the same, as Tom Phillips wrote in his book Humans: “We have so often placed ourselves on the edge of the abyss, about to take a step forward, which is a miracle that we are not yet extinct. ”
In the passing moments, whether we like it or not, we are all afraid of the infinite. But it is in the corner of our strong convictions that we must act, in these imperative and conscious moments. When are we going to stop being afraid to look away? As someone said, “we can live without water and food for days, but not a second without hope. It is what makes us look to the future with the optimism that better days will come ”.
By myself I want to tell you that “I have my agenda” with all the pages blank, as if there was no future. And in fact in these moments we have the feeling that there is not. But there is the present - and my gift is to think that in a little while I will walk my Junior! This is perhaps the most difficult moment in the life of all of us and that is why we must focus on what is essential: preserving health, not only ours, but everyone's. As Hippocrates said: “There are truly two different things: to know and to believe that you know. Science consists of knowing; in believing that we know lies ignorance. ”

todos nós temos medo do infinito.
A ciência

“THE BIGGER THE DREAM IS, THE LONGER IS THE WAIT!” (Suh Yoon Lee)
“THE BIGGER THE DREAM IS, THE LONGER IS THE WAIT!”
(Suh Yoon Lee)
"Nobody dares to predict how it will be going forward.”
Life experience tells us that to make big dreams come true it will take great sacrifices and, in some cases, a long wait. Perhaps it is so or not everyone believes it to be so.
I belong to a generation, like many of us who lived most of their lives in a state of emergency: the emergency of going to the overseas war, the dictatorship, the end of the empire, the construction of a new regime resulting from the "revolution" , new relationships with the world, etc. A generation that left home, around the age of 20, that came to life in Africa for each other around the world to which they emigrated. We have to admit that many life projects fell apart like a deck of cards, many courses remained unfinished, but many of us, we have to consider that we were lucky because we went and came back, which did not happen to thousands of other young people who gave your life for nothing and for nothing! That's why, and maybe we know that not all dreams come true, but we can always dream new dreams, being aware that dreams are not impossible, only people don't know how to make them come true. “Our biggest weakness is giving up. The surest way to win is to try again. ” (Thomas Edison)
In fact, if we stand in the same place, we will never be able to achieve what we desire. We have to be inspired and find the courage to realize our biggest dreams, regardless of the fears that surround us! We need a lot of willpower to take enough chances! As Michelle Obama said: “We will not always have a comfortable life and we will not always be able to find solutions to our problems at once. But never underestimate its importance, because history has already shown us that courage can be contagious and that hope can have a life of its own ”.
I believe I have already written it, that this is not mine and that of many others our time. Time calls for time. And while we ask, day by day, how long time can take, I think it depends on everyone to stop the epidemic of misinformation. It depends on everyone to stop the covid-19. Whether we like it or not, the so-called “new coronavirus” enters us, at all times, at home without asking for permission, on television, on social media, by the messages we receive and by any call or video call we make, in the management of our time and to endure loneliness and isolation. There are many unanswered questions, and news that at every moment changes what it was before. We all feel that the conditions for social panic are in place and it is becoming increasingly difficult to trust the information or decisions and directions we receive. “In the difficult moments of my life, I remembered that in the history of humanity, love and truth have always won. “(Mahatma Gandhi)
We can and must exercise an effective citizenship right by “becoming” public health agents by questioning, investigating, choosing the best sources of information. We are public health agents by keeping an eye on information and not sharing and spreading messages from unofficial sources. We are public health agents when consulting official media such as WHO and DGS, and whenever any of our friends have doubts, share reliable information with them.
The time has come to stop. We are in pause mode. Life goes on in moments. “What really matters is not the night itself, it is dreams. Dreams that man always dreams, everywhere, at all times of the year, sleeping or awake. ”(William Shakespeare)

“QUANTO MAIOR É O SONHO, MAIS LONGA É A ESPERA!” (Suh Yoon Lee)
“QUANTO MAIOR É O SONHO, MAIS LONGA É A ESPERA!”
(Suh
Yoon Lee)
muitos outros o nosso tempo. O tempo pede tempo. E enquanto perguntamos, dia a
