"The hardest task in life is to change yourself." (Nelson Mandela)

"The hardest task in life is to change yourself." (Nelson Mandela) Silence is very difficult at times. With true friends, there are no arguments, only occasional sulks. That's why friendship continues within moments! There's a friend of mine, whom I hold in high regard, who always tells me, "I write too much on my posts..." I've already explained to her that I write "for myself"... above all because it gives me a sense of purpose and reflects the importance of finding purpose or meaning in life, an essential part of connecting to truth, reflection, and freedom. As Pope Francis said: "It is always possible to begin again, even from the rubble." I am fully aware that everything in life changes; we never know what tomorrow will bring. Sometimes life is a beautiful gift, and at other times, this gift involves thinking about what to do with it, since we didn't expect it. In other words, never stop believing in yourself, just as you never stop seizing the opportunities life gives you, even in difficult times.” By giving our lives a purpose, we dull their emotional capacity. Sometimes, or almost always, we make too many plans and too few promises. And the ones we make, or hear made, are hardly credible. But we must be fully aware that promising “reorganizes and guides the present,” promising enables our future: “out of nothing,” with just our word, the promise “creates a bond and a commitment capable of spanning time and bringing together, in a single declaration, past, present, and future.” If “without a future there are no promises,” we can also ask, “what future can we have if we dare not promise anything?” “The time we have is not short, but we lose much of it.” Life is long enough, and generously given to us, to accomplish the greatest things, if we use it well.” (Seneca – On the Shortness of Life.) A promise can establish commitments (and make possible betrayals, also human, oh, so human), “interrupt destiny,” “affirm with conviction a truth that defies the weight of reality.” It can break the impotence of the “value of words.” It means being open to realizing how much we don’t know. Being careful with the certainties we hold in our minds. Because many of these certainties are uncertain, like: “It’s too late for me.” “He who does not know the value of words will not know human beings…. If you want to predict the future, study the past.” (Confucius) I also know that silence would be a form of giving up. And I don’t give up!!!!
