“A different world cannot be built by indifferent people.”

“A different world cannot be built by indifferent people.” (Peter Marshall)

The windows of my room, early in the morning, bring me to life outside. The sounds of life. I got used to listening to them like someone who breathes. But today is different. How was it yesterday. On this cold night, I have the windows closed. And yet, I can't help but hear life out there. The struggle for life. “Life… is never the way to be imagined. It surprises us, and haunts us, and makes us laugh or cry when we least expect it. ”(Niki de Saint Phalle 1930 - 2002)An ambulance march breaks the silence of the almost deserted streets. One and then another. Who will go inside? Minutes later, another ambulance. Who will go inside? In no time, more sirens. Who will go inside? It is impossible to remain indifferent.

Tomorrow, it could be me. Anyone of us. In fact, it is the entire country that goes there. Tonight, I don't like hearing the sounds of the city. In these strange times, death hovers around. It is everywhere. Closer and closer. It is no longer something that happens only to others. “What doesn't cause my death makes me stronger.” (Friedrich Nietzsche)

Statistics are increasingly macabre, fear is a second skin. We live the longest night. A night that seems to have no end. This pandemic started almost a year ago. But it looks like it was yesterday. These days, we live with our hearts in our hands. There is a black cloud that hovers over the sky. Before finishing his speech, Joe Biden (President of the United States) quoted the Bible, namely Psalm 30, recalled that “crying can persist one night, but in the morning joy breaks out”. It's never tomorrow!
