"What counts is not how much you live, but how you live." (Martin Luther King)

"What counts is not how much you live, but how you live." (Martin Luther King) Paraphrasing Miguel Torga, “it is important to shout so that the voice can shake the sleep of those responsible”. In today's times "which are not normal times" in which newspapers, television, information platforms, radios and other media, especially those that claim to be impartial and professional, navigate the same waters as predicted and oriented towards certain ends, some out of political sympathy and others out of sensationalism, we are often faced with those who deliberately deceive, those who distort the facts, those who hide, those who stage and those who invent. “One may not remember the insults; but a bitter experience is kept from them, ugly as a scar. And that ages the soul, makes it ruinous and useless.” (Agustina Bessa-Luís) , maybe that's why it's advisable to turn the page and put an end to the things that hurt us. It turns out that in these times and in all times, experience always leaves us a lesson, which we do not always take the proper note of, but we must have the perception that to recover life we have to remove the scars, in the sense of the words of René Descartes that “living without philosophizing is what is called having your eyes closed without ever having tried to open them”, or as the Brazilian writer Cecília Meireles said, “There are people who talk to us and we don’t even listen to them, there are people who hurt us and we don’t even hear them. scars leave, but there are people who simply appear in our lives and mark us forever”, and we all have the dream of not just living longer, but achieving that additional time to be lived healthier - living longer and better. “What surprises me most about humanity are the "men". Because they lose their health to save money. Then they lose money to regain their health. And because they anxiously think about the future, they forget about the present in such a way that they end up not living either the present or the future. And they live as if they would never die... ...And they die as if they had never lived. (DALAI LAMA)
