The surest sign of wisdom is constant serenity.” (Montaigne)
We should be as sensible as adults, but curious as children. We must reflect like the elderly, but explore the world like teenagers It is necessary to have serenity and lucidity to know how to wait. We have reached a point where, thanks to democracy in the 20th century, “humans who consider themselves modern” think that all points of view, even if diametrically opposed, are equivalent and respectable. That is, as if reality did not exist, as if the simple fact that we thought something made it true. This multiplicity of perspectives may seem like a precious asset, but, in fact, it leads to a generation of people who cannot agree on anything ... they don't even evolve in society, as we know there is a hatred machine impossible to stop, which remains active and whose model is followed worldwide by parties, football clubs, social movements and everything that lives from polarization and division. "... and I don't align with that….!" Above all, be true to yourself, and from there it will follow, as surely as the night follows the day, that no man can be false. ” (Shakespeare)
In these times that we are now passing by, there are some “enlightened ones” who I consider to be shameless and despicable beings, who “seem” not to know on what planet these creatures live, who debit about everything, but without realizing anything? And, are they like this because they understand that others think they are more intelligent if they are “militants” of the “down-down” brigade? In reality it never has, nor does it have anything positive that can contribute to society, and are only able to survive in a context of scorn and curse? There are those who do, and there are those who speak. I am as always with the first ……! As Bernard Shaw said, "It is impossible to progress without change, and those who do not change their minds cannot change anything."
May we have the courage to change the things that can be changed, serenity to accept the things that cannot be changed and wisdom to distinguish one from the other. Being patient and knowing how to wait is not an easy task, but you must learn to deal with that time. It seems that, in general, we have more to do in a single day, so that we may not be able to conclude it, so we are always in a hurry. As writer John Maxwell said: "The pessimist complains about the wind, the optimist expects him to change and the sage arranges the sails."
However, there is no other way out when it comes to waiting, because it is part of human life, and practically all of us are waiting for something to live in a world of turmoil. The search for a moment of peace and tranquility in this chaotic world is more than necessary. Here I feel like paraphrasing Socrates, (the philosopher) "I know I know nothing, because everything I know denounces how much I don't know and reveals my ignorance."
