We don't talk about the past, but about the present! For those who have vacations, they say they change the pace, but there are certain habits we like to keep. Reading the newspaper is one of them. Not just to know what happened, but to understand different perspectives, keep up with the world, and continue learning. Because being informed also influences how we think, talk, and make decisions. Today, this falls within the realm of impossibilities – we are in the times of so-called “alternative truths,” of “untruths,” and why not write “lies.” Today, social networks are a “school of hate” in our pockets, our children, our grandchildren, the whole family, and all citizens. When we look at the new forms of propaganda that mix multiple narratives (some true and others false), they go back and also combine very different historical times. In reality, it is a “political theater” full of manipulation that we find in the so-called “social networks” – “A philosophical question asked by a child is a unique opportunity,” and we all know that “a lie can travel six times around the world before the truth has time to put on its pants.” (Mark Twain) And sometimes, or almost always, there are those who say that thinking is not a luxury, because we all think; what is a luxury is having “time to think about what we want to think about, instead of thinking about what others want us to think about.” "They force you to think." A first aspect that the bad guys understood, as demonstrated in the book, is ways to manipulate social networks and the data they produce. And, we cannot and should not forget, as Plato would have said: "The greatest punishment for those who are not interested in politics is that they will be governed by those who are."

Não falamos do passado, mas do presente! As férias para quem as têm, dizem que mudam o ritmo, mas há certos hábitos que gostamos de manter. Ler o jornal é um deles. Não apenas para saber o que aconteceu, mas para perceber diferentes perspetivas, acompanhar o mundo e continuar a aprender. Porque estar informado também influencia a forma como pensamos, conversamos e tomamos decisões. Isso hoje entra dentro das impossibilidades – estamos nos tempos das ditas “verdades alternativas, das “inverdades”, e porque não escrever “das mentiras”. Hoje as redes socias são uma “escola de ódio “no nosso bolso, nossos filha(os), nossos neta(os), toda a família, e de toda(os) os cidadãos. Ao olharmos para as novas formas de propaganda que mistura múltiplas narrativas (umas verdadeiras e outras falsas), voltam atrás e também combinam tempos históricos muito distintos. Na realidade trata-se de um “teatro politico” cheio de manipulação que encontramos nas chamadas “redes sociais”- “Uma pergunta filosófica feita por uma criança é uma oportunidade única” e todos sabemos que “ uma mentira pode correr seis vezes pelo mundo antes que a verdade tenha tempo de vestir as calças.”(Mark Twain) E por vezes ou quase sempre há quem diga que pensar não é um luxo, porque todos pensamos, o que é um luxo é ter “tempo para pensar naquilo que queremos pensar, em vez de pensar naquilo que os outros nos obrigam a pensar”.(Scott Hershovitz, professor de Filosofia na Universidade de Michigan). Como disse José Saramago: “A vida é uma aprendizagem diária. Afasto-me do caos e sigo um simples pensamento: Quanto mais simples, melhor! “ A este propósito deixo aqui esta sugestão de leitura obrigatória para todos os cidadãos e nomeadamente para os que exercem uma acção participativa na politica, este livro, que logo no seu inicio ( Os Engenheiros do Caos - Giuliano Da Empoli) é citado uma frase de Woody Allen: “Os maus, sem dúvida, entenderam alguma coisa que os bons ignoram”. Um primeiro aspecto que os maus entenderam, como demonstrado no livro, são formas de manipular as redes sociais e os dados que elas produzem. E, não podemos nem devemos esquecer como terá dito Platão: ” O maior castigo para aqueles que não se interessam por política é que serão governados pelos que se interessam. “
