What is strange in Portugal – and perhaps in dozens of other small countries like Portugal – is that these opinions are debated with an intensity and a sense of importance that would lead a “Martian” to believe that it was Portugal that had been invaded by Russia! Contrary to what Marx wrote correcting Hegel in "18 Brumaire", it is not true that the great facts of history present themselves the first time as a TRAGEDY, the second time as a FARCE: the second time they can present themselves as a TRAGEDY STILL WORST. This is what, after the 1991 Gulf War, and all the wars after that, happens today with Ukraine. The reality is that we are on an escalation of inhumanity and the collapse of humanity, on the escalation of simplism and the collapse of complexity. But, above all, in the escalation towards the globalized war and in the collapse of humanity into the abyss.
