Heal the past. Live the present. Dream the future. (Irish proverb)

Heal the past. Live the present. Dream the future. (Irish proverb)

"A feeling that occupies our head and squeezes our heart."

There was someone who said that our life was made of nostalgia, the past is always part of our history, a lot of emotion in the way we live the present, and many dreams, how we envision the future. But the times of today, do not measure the same since the “appearance of the coronavirus”. This is how, in our understanding, nostalgia will be the only beneficiary, because we are always pulling time back as if wanting to return to our way of life, it is our sentimental heritage, like photos from the past. We also almost always try to stretch that time with absurd predictions, as if we know the covid's plans19; or even with “half crazy suggestions” and even say well-intentioned. We are not even realizing that the greatest prejudice is the present, which is suspended, perplexed by uncertainties and fears. It just makes me want to slap myself so I wake up !!! “There are things that leave marks that are very difficult to overcome. There is only one way to get rid of bitter experiences: to live in the present. Always enjoy now. As the famous phrase immortalized by hippies says: "Today is the first day of the rest of my life." (Paulo Coelho) In another way, we will all have to return to normality. With the perception that it will be a new and different normality, with new practices and reinvented procedures. We are all going to change something in these coming times, these strange times in which we live. We live in the strangest time in the history of mankind. We have a notion that there is more information, but we know, at least we have this feeling, that we are less informed! We are of the opinion that a newspaper and journalism can only be fully guided by the spirit of public service and obedience to a code of values that goes from respect for minorities, the fight against discrimination, the defense of democracy, the state of right, freedom of expression or tolerance of the need to scrutinize powers to prevent abuse and defend citizens. Now, daily it is nothing like this, in general that we have seen, and for that reason it would be useful that, in the near future, some of these “professionals” avoided making public statements, which, by not solving any of the possible problems they present, aggravate the a state of anxiety and insecurity for a large part of the citizens, who are far from providing a service to society. How would your ethical and professional duty be. There has to be a difference between the runaway humor of social media and the attitude of institutional responsibility that the current moment demands. We can never omit that freedom means responsibility. This is perhaps why so many people are afraid of it. ” We have to do the best we can. This is our sacred human responsibility. ”(Albert Einstein)
In my opinion, in addition to merit and responsiveness, and despite advances and setbacks, government authorities have maintained a coherence far superior to that of other countries, however there are those who consider that despite the development of the past 46 years, our country still it has a tradition that dates back to the 17th century - everything arrived late in Portugal: artistic currents, knowledge, democracy, industrialization, other material goods. And viruses too! The reality is that the Portuguese, in general, have given a fantastic example of discipline throughout these long days of confinement, and that is why they will know how to wait for the right time and time for a “return to life in normalcy”. What else do we want? The return to life that we have become accustomed to and that we now dream of, but we must all know that we have to be content with what is compatible with the new times, at least until a vaccine is discovered that can free us from this invisible enemy. A call for reflection because we must know that all fruits come from the roots. Just like all good results come from a well-done homework. From one moment to the next everything changed in our life. We value things that we take for granted. It's a hard lesson in life! “We don't have the solutions for all the world's problems in our hands, but in the face of all the world's problems we have our hands.” (Friedrich Von Schiller)
