“The lie today in the world is more powerful than the truth.“ (Father António Vieira)
“A lie can go around the world, while the truth still wears your shoes.” So Mark Twain wrote, but the authorship is uncertain. We live in a World, and in Portugal this “political culture” is not shied away, in which political life is made up of many lies, great rumors and only many small truths, as well as pseudo-scientific rumors, disguised as a rare wisdom, which are, in general, invented by “people who consider themselves smart,” and which are later taken up in the newsrooms of newspapers and on television channels, and also because on social networks, and in general on the internet, many lies circulate and very few truths. “The lies are many and they are against each other, until they fight they will not know where the truth is.” (José Saramago) In this regard and even if the lie, the misrepresentation of the facts, the lack of exemption, or the propaganda, are found, repeatedly, throughout History, we are today involved by a certainty that the pandemic has potential for “the politicians of our square ”unexpected, just have some attention when reading, seeing and hearing what is going on in our press and how the so-called“ smart politicians of politics ”already started to think that it is necessary to act quickly to seize the moment, and immediately start making calculations for the most senseless adventures, for which Portuguese politicians quickly prepared themselves, based on that popular saying, very Portuguese, that "in the land of the blind, whoever has an eye is king". Someone has already written that in times like this, the idea is established "in the politicians" that "the worse the better", or to put it another way, "loses the government and wins who is in opposition!". What about citizens? These are subject to the ambitions of politicians and politiquices… ..! There are also those who consider it, therefore, a danger to democracy, to citizenship, and to the world in which we live. This is the consequence of a truth of modern times: the lie is present and is shared, distributed and assimilated as a fact that constructs opinions and defines decisions. ”The future is built by our daily, changing and changing decisions, and each event influences all others. The right question is usually more important than the right answer to the wrong question. ”(Alvin Tofller) In my opinion, there was some exaggeration in the facilities and optimism, when there should be a lot of firmness in the rules and customs, which in a way will have generated a lot of confusion in those who only and only intend to comply with the rules emanating from the health organs themselves. Do what has to be done this damn year, and above all vaccinate the citizens! Of course, we are all very concerned, not least because today there are a lot of people out there who criticize the approach that was taken, especially the “lack of speed in decision making”. But was it possible to be faster? This “so-called alternative” does not give us any answer, so I say: “end this gap between politicians and citizens”.These pandemic times are a very difficult time, for Portugal and the Portuguese, but also for the whole world, and that is why we must be together in this fight and remain united, against a common enemy - the virus - with the awareness that the most important now it is to maintain hope and contain a certain greed and some anxiety. The race that matters is the credibility of the “vaccination plan” and the acceleration of vaccines. We need to trust both, above all, vaccinate the citizens of this country! ” “There is no way of checking which decision is correct, as there is no comparison term. Everything is experienced for the first time and without preparation. As if an actor enters the scene without ever having rehearsed. ”(Milan Kundera)
