WHAT IS THE NEXT "THING" BETTER THAN I CAN DO?
" Easy is to dream every night. Difficult is to fight for a dream "(anonymous)
Have we, at certain times in our lives, felt somewhat tired and even overwhelmed with so much to do, that we are not able to act? And even many eager to make a decision? Not willing to do anything? First of all, we have to think that we are not the only ones, that we are not alone and that these moments of "apparent paralysis" are very difficult moments, and one of the most difficult parts is to feel ashamed to think that we are not capable, or simply " leaving "or even" overcoming "this situation. In reality, this state of "lethargy" and "shame" permeates the situation, and amplifies the feelings of which we want to get rid in the first place, and in the time that we think reasonable, which leaves us in a very difficult situation.
So I thought and I want to share a question with all those who please read these my "daydreams" which, in a way, I even found to be of some use, that the next time you feel trapped in one of these difficult states of (sadness, depression, anxiety, fear, worry, oppression), you can ask yourself, or even ask: WHAT IS THE NEXT THING I CAN DO?
By this, I mean: WHAT IS THE NEXT TOP THING I CAN DO, NOW? What is the next best action, decision, "play on our board of life" what can I do now? We may be getting up in the morning from our bed; we can be dressing up; we may be changing the way we talk to ourselves; we may be preparing to go for a walk or a walk; we may even want to ask for help; we may be preparing to make a decision, even if we are not sure if it is the right one; can be as simple as putting the phone down and breathing deeply.
In fact, we must be aware that we can not always change everything at once, but we can usually change something in a piecemeal fashion, not as large as our desire. When we focus on doing something better, next time, instead of looking at the overall picture, let's look at the piecemeal way of things and so it may even seem a bit more manageable, make or realize our desires. We may even feel a sense of a greater sense of control over our experiences. Thinking about the next best thing that we can do allows each of us to feel more and more capable of doing something that until that moment did not seem possible to us - even the minor things - that causes a certain shake in our experience of life and offers an opportunity to face the change that we think and consider necessary.
So my suggestion is when you meet, in one of those difficult times, why all of us have ever gone, try asking yourself the question, "Okay, what's the next best thing I can do?" Even if we still can not do the next best thing, just thinking about it takes us back to the present, and back to our power to live life. Because sometimes, the next best thing is enough to have one foot ahead of the other. The key to this "enigma" is to be able to rejoice in what we accomplish and which, in turn, allows us to overcome ourselves, discover our experiences and make us gain confidence and self-esteem. Therefore, even if the will is not on our side, we must put one foot ahead of the other, often ignoring the way we feel at that moment.
"If there is a path between the one who marches and the objective for which he tends, there is hope of reaching it; if there is no way, what is the purpose? "(St. Augustine - Against Academicians 1,3,19)
